Quirky and colourful, The Apple Tree is not your run-of-the-mill pub. Independently owned and proud to be non-conformist, from all of our team we offer a warm welcome to all and a home to the LGBTQ+ communities and to those living an alternative lifestyle.

In a reversal of traditional menus, we’re offering a wider range of choices for vegans and vegetarians, while not excluding our meat-eating friends. With our new menu we hope to share with you the variety and tastiness of non-meat dishes and we would value your feedback. Our meat and dairy options are thoughtfully sourced from higher welfare suppliers: Albion Fine Foods and Sutton Hoo Chicken.

At the Apple Tree, we encourage everyone to be open to all kinds of new experiences.

Our friendly bar team are on hand to mix you up some delicious, fresh cocktails with home-made infusions and cordials, inspired by the current season, and includes vegan and alcohol-free options. We have a carefully selected wine menu, with organic and vegan options, a fine selection of spirits, and our lager and IPA on tap are from Chapel Down in Kent and brewed with champagne yeast.

We’re more than a pub; we’re also an event venue and community hub. We host exciting workshops and events such as Body Positive Life Painting, Immersive Theatre Performances, Open Mics, Drag Cabarets and monthly Queer Clothes Swaps. Check out our listings on Facebook for the upcoming events.

Full of colour and character, our accessible ground floor main bar is great for larger gatherings. Bright and airy during the daytime, the space becomes cosier and atmospheric in the evenings, once the curtains are closed.

As well as being able to hire the main bar, we also have available to hire various function rooms, a karaoke room, co-working desks and spaces, and therapy rooms. For large events and parties you can even hire a whole floor!
